The Plan

In late June 2011 I will be leaving Vermont on a cross country trip to the southwest US. I will be driving a Dodge Ram Van 3500 which I have converted into a camper van. The van in question started it's life as an FBI surveillance vehicle in Boston MA. I bought the van in July of 2010 after it was sold at auction by the federal government. When I purchased the van it had only 29,000 miles on the odometer.

In the blog "Van Travels" I will be attempting to document for my friends and family my trip from VT to NM and back, as well as all of my experiences along the way including video and photographs. Preparations are underway, including multiple upgrades to the van. Assuming gas prices will not get too much worse, I plan to leave VT around June 22nd.

In the weeks leading up to my departure, I will be giving updates as to my travel plans (in case any of you would like to meet me along the way!), as well as any cool additions that I have made to the van (known fondly as FDR).
